Voting Membership Guidelines

Any individual or family may purchase a "full privilege", voting membership certificate at a cost of $1000. In order to vote, a member must be current in dues. FSBC has a limit of 500 full privilege voting memberships. Seasonal non-voting memberships are "limited privilege memberships" which entitle the individual or family to some, but not all, club privileges, as decided by the FSBC Board. These memberships include pool privileges, eligibility to join FSBC swim team and enroll in summer camp. All new members and lapsed FSBC members are required to pay an initiation (or re-activation) fee.

Voting Members make a one time payment of $1000 in addition to annual dues and receive the following benefits:

  • Priority rental, discounts for club use
  • Reduced annual dues and fees
  • Free parking at UVA football games
  • Book of 10 free guest passes (only the first year)
  • Participate in the stewardship of Fry's Spring - historic preservation of city green space and a community asset.

Membership Categories (Article III, By Laws)

  • Individual: Any one adult over the age of 18.
  • Dual: Any two adults, or one adult and one child. These memberships are intended for couples (with no children), or a single parent and one child, in both cases living under one roof. Also includes two adults and infant(s) until the oldest child is aged 2 years.
  • Family: Any one or two parents (or step parents) and their children living under the same roof. These memberships may include dependents, as defined by the Internal Revenue Code, Section 152 (any individual over half of whose support is provided by the member, living as part of the household, under one roof). Divorced or separated individuals not living under the same roof, and with separate families or dependants, should obtain separate memberships, which may be individual, dual or family, depending on the circumstances.

Policies (Article IX, Sect. 2, By Laws)

Club members are encouraged to bring guests to the Club. All guests must be accompanied by the sponsoring member and both members and guests must register at the Club. Guest fees and charges are the responsibility of the sponsoring member. Guests resident in Charlottesville, Albemarle Co. and counties adjacent to Albemarle Co are limited to one visit to the pool each month, excepting children or authorized baby-sitters, who may visit more often by agreement of the Club Manager.
